For a big adventure, we usually get excited about going camping in the woods, but we don’t try going into Canada or Mexico, because we don’t know if it’s safe.

Perhaps you want to explore your own state, or visit your nearest national park. It might be a less expensive trip to tour your state, with each state’s attractions.

Regardless of how far you want to travel, you should plan it so your motorhome doesn’t break down or get lost.

Your motorhome doesn’t have to be fancy, or even one you own, but it does need to be operable.

Budgeting for a Motorhome Road Trip

While you may be attracted to the prospect of travelling across the U.S. and spending a few days relaxing, shopping, or sightseeing, we think you need to make sure you’re prepared financially before you start.

While you’re going to spend time enjoying your RV, you need to make sure you can cover your RV expenses, whether you’re a student, retiree, or your money comes from a 401(k) or other employer-sponsored retirement plan.

The good news is you don’t have to spend a ton of money to enjoy a nice motorhome road trip.

How Much Do RV’s Cost?

RV’s can get pretty expensive if you want to buy the most high-end motorhomes out there.

Budget motorhomes under $10,000 typically aren’t very expensive to buy and maintain. Even entry-level motorhomes under $20,000 tend to require minimal maintenance.

But motorhomes can become more expensive if you want to stay in the luxury market, or if you need extra amenities like a surround sound entertainment system, a separate master bedroom, or a luxurious bathroom.

The average price of a top-of-the-line motorhome is around $100,000, while the price ranges widely from a few thousand dollars to $1 million.

In the same way that you try out different new online casinos first before settling for a couple or more on which you’re geared up for your regular gaming, RVs can also be tried and tested through renting, before pulling the trigger and completing what will undeniably make for a significant purchase.
